Course Context

The objectives of this training are:

  • To provide the knowledge required to more effectively support someone who has a suspected or diagnosed mental health condition.
  • To raise understanding of coping methods when a team member is displaying some challenging behaviours associated with mental health conditions

The Mental Health Awareness course is designed to provide delegates with the skills needed for supporting colleagues who may be experiencing mental health problems. Understanding and identifying symptoms of these disorders are just two components in this program, which also teaches practical strategies such as giving someone time out from stressful situations or guiding them towards seeking professional help when necessary so they can get back on track more quickly than expected!

A workplace that views mental health positively can help support the well-being of all employees, as well as be an open environment for people with problems. The importance of basic training cannot be overlooked. There are countless people in organizations that suffer from a lack or appreciation for their skills and experience, but choose not to speak up about it because they fear being mistreated at work.

In this course, you will learn how to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for those with mental health challenges. You’ll be able take what has been taught in the classroom and use it on-the-go through practical exercises that illustrate common workplace situations faced by people who have these conditions!

Health statistics indicate that one in six adults of working age will be affected by mental health in any one year. Mental health is now responsible for 91 million lost working days each year, costing UK employers a staggering £42 billion pounds. Developing your awareness of mental health can significantly reduce the impact of mental health conditions on your business

Stress, depression or anxiety account for 55% of all working days lost due to work-related ill health.
